• The reason I donate plasma is because of a near-death experience myself. As a result of rupturing my achilles, I began to hemorrhage and could not stop bleeding. My husband found me injured on our bathroom floor, and I had lost a lot of blood. To save my life, I needed seven units of blood and plasma to help with the treatments and recovery. I donate because anything I can do to save somebody else, I’ll be right there to do it.

• It's been over a year since I started my plasma donation journey in January 2023. I first got into it after seeing an ad during my usual bus commute. I'd donated blood before, but when I heard plasma donations come with a little extra something in return, I thought, 'Why not?'.
  Turns out, it's been a huge benefit in my life since, especially as a retired veteran. I make extra money weekly by donating plasma! That's been a big help towards my daughter's savings account and keeping some healthy food in the fridge for the family.
  But let me tell you about my latest visit on March 7th, 2024. I had a bit of a scare – it felt like I was having a full-blown heart attack. I was having a hard time breathing and felt like I was about to pass out. Thank goodness for Taya, the phlebotomist, and Jessica, the MSA. Those two were like lightning, swooping in and saving the day. They knew exactly what to do and handled my situation like professionals.
  That experience showed me how LFB Plasma takes care of its donors. Having staff who are prepared for anything makes all the difference. Plus, let's not forget to mention how clean and nice the Florence Center is – definitely makes the whole process a lot more comfortable.
